1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to Visualab AI ("we", "our", "us") and all products and services operating under the toolsmith brand, including the Chrome extensions DM Craft and TabMind, and the websites visualab-ai.com and its sub-paths.

3. Chrome extension data practices

Our Chrome extensions (DM Craft, TabMind) operate primarily within your local browser environment. Specifically:

  • Tab titles, URLs, and page content accessed by the extension are processed locally or sent to an AI API for generation purposes (e.g., generating a DM draft). This data is not stored on our servers beyond the immediate API call.
  • AI generation requests are sent to third-party AI API providers (currently Anthropic Claude API). These providers have their own privacy policies. We do not send personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary for the task.
  • The extension does not log or transmit your browsing history.
  • All settings and history are stored in chrome.storage.local — on your device only, accessible only by the extension.

4. Payments — ExtensionPay and Stripe

Pro subscriptions for all toolsmith extensions are processed through ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe as the payment processor.

  • We never see or store your full credit card number, CVV, or billing address.
  • Your Google account email is shared with ExtensionPay to link your subscription to the extension.
  • Stripe's privacy policy governs all payment data: stripe.com/privacy

5. Analytics — PostHog

We use PostHog for anonymous, aggregated analytics. This helps us understand which features are used and where errors occur.

  • Events are anonymous — no name, email, or personal identifier is sent.
  • IP addresses are anonymized before storage.
  • We do not use analytics data for advertising or share it with third parties.
  • You can opt out of analytics by disabling the extension or contacting us.

6. Cookies and website tracking

Our websites (visualab-ai.com) use minimal first-party cookies for session management only. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing trackers.

7. Data retention

  • Newsletter emails: Retained until you unsubscribe.
  • ExtensionPay/Stripe account data: Retained per Stripe's policy; deleted upon request and account closure.
  • PostHog analytics: Aggregated events retained for 12 months, then deleted.
  • Local extension storage: Retained on your device until you uninstall the extension or clear storage manually.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Delete your data — email hello@visualab-ai.com with subject "Data Deletion Request" and we will delete all identifiable data within 30 days.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Object to certain processing or withdraw consent at any time.
  • Portability — request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.

For EU/EEA residents, these rights are provided under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For California residents, these rights are provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

9. Children's privacy

toolsmith extensions and Visualab AI services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
